Biography

Having been dragged kicking and screaming from the ashes, Georgia natives The Chariot have been destroying their abrasive and chaotically jarring sound to audience’s ears since 2003. Renowned for intense and affected live shows, The Chariot cast away any preconceptions of the hardcore genre. Having signed to Solid State Records in 2004, their first full-length album ‘Everything Is Alive, Everything Is Breathing, Nothing Is Dead, Nothing Is Bleeding’. Parodying previous albums featuring names including death and morbid suggestion, The Chariot bucked the trend and decided to call it the exact opposite of this. The album received approving reviews and managed to debut at No.23 in the Top Heat seekers chart of the same year.

Touring relentlessly throughout America, as well as Europe for the next two years the band found themselves recording the follow up to the debut album entitled ‘The FiancĂ©e”. Combining the same ethics and retrospective lyrics centred on materialism, politics and some Christian beliefs thematically as the previous album but with added clout and instrumentation, the band had truly found their sound with the record debuting within the top 200 of the Billboard Chart.

The call of touring once again pushed the band to new places on the globe with a long stint on the Sounds Of The Underground tour cemented their place as purveyors in the new wave of Hardcore coming out of America in the early 2000’s. For the love of playing live, the unstoppable touring extended into 2008 with stops such as Warped Tour during the summer and a headline tour of America in late 2004.

Since then, The Chariot has released ‘Wars And Rumours Of Wars’ ‘Long Live’ and of August the 28th this year ‘One Wing’. With much critical adulation and success, the band has a line up of numerous touring dates to come within both America and Europe. The sheer dedication of a band too stubborn to give up, The Chariot are sure to provoke a reaction till their dying days.
